Date: February 15th 2012
Hey everyone,
Here’s yet another Gorge Log out. We need 2 or 3
volunteers to help with this log out. As it is in the Wilderness area, it will
be a crosscut saw crew. If you have an interest in learning to become a
crosscut sawyer, this is a good opportunity to learn. There are
a few easy to moderate trees that need bucking.
The crew will meet at the Herman Creek Trailhead at 8 a.m.
and should return by 4 p.m. (if not earlier depending on the work and weather)
It is a 2.5 mile hike in (most likely the same back out<smile>) and will
be a log out, not much other trail maintenance.
You will need to bring your lunch, snacks & water, also
work gloves. Also please wear sturdy work boots, long sleeves and pants and
bring rain gear too. We will provide the tools and hardhats.
David Roe will be the crew leader and sawyer on this crew.
If you are interested in this crew, hit the reply button or
send me an e-mail at: tturner@pcta.org.
Thanks for considering volunteering with us!
