Hello everyone!
We are in need of filling a key position on our 2012 Trail
Skills College Planning Committee, the registrar. (See below for the job
description) This position covers the important job of getting all of the
participants registered into the classes they desire and keep them organized
and informed. If you are a numbers/database/spreadsheet type person and want to
help out, we’d love to have you!
We need someone with strong communication, Internet and
research skills. Someone with the ability to invest a minimum of 5-10 hours per
week for the next 6 months; including monthly meetings and/or teleconferences. We
would also like this person to have a commitment to participate at the event
and assist with post-event reporting & evaluation. Having some prior event
planning experience would be helpful too!
Here’s the job description:
Registrar
·
Open
registration and register participants beginning several months before the
date, keep excellent records, and keep planning committee informed of
enrollment levels
·
Record
all volunteer hours; participants, volunteers on planning committee, and
volunteer instructors (pre-event, event and post event hours)
·
Send
out regular communication to registered participants about enrollment details
·
Send
out information packet to all registered participants at least 2 weeks in
advance of event
·
Event
Days
o Staff the
registration table, greet and orient participants
o Supervise all
registration volunteers
·
After
Event
o Work with Chair and
Publicity Manager on Accomplishments Report
o Ensure thank you
notes are sent to all registration volunteers

Volunteers for the Mount Hood Chapter of the Pacific Crest Trail Association maintain the 217 miles of PCT between Midway Meadows south of Washington's Goat Rocks Wilderness and Park Ridge in Oregon's Mount Jefferson Wilderness.
