Date: February 29th 2012
Hello!
We are in need of 3 volunteers for a log out on Wauna
Viewpoint Trail (TR402), you will be the swampers on this saw crew. You will
help clear the debris and stop any hikers/runners from passing until the sawyer
says it’s safe! There will be no tread work on this crew, but there may
be some brushing as time permits.
You will meet at 8 a.m. at Eagle Creek, at the first
trail head (parking lot closest to I-84), since TR402 starts across the
suspension bridge. Leif Hovin is the crew leader/sawyer.
You will need to bring lunch, snacks and water. Also you
need to wear sturdy boots, long pants and sleeves (although I don’t know
why you wouldn’t at this time of year) and bring work gloves and rain
gear.
We will provide hardhats and tools (and work gloves if
you don’t have any), and earplugs for those that want them! So if you are
interested in heading out on this crew, please either hit the reply button or
send me an e-mail at tturner@pcta.org.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!
