Date: August 4th 2015

Good Morning Volunteers!!

Our super-fun and educational PCT Days are coming up again soon, so I am shooting out a request for volunteers to staff our booth on August 28-30, 2015 in Cascade Locks, Oregon, adjacent to beautiful Thunder Island. We need you to come share your enthusiasm and help us to recruit more advocates for the trail we all love! You will be working the PCTA information booth and store - we will have PCTA products for sale, and PCTA Staff there to help out, as well. The store is only on Saturday, but we need some help on Friday and Sunday as well. Interested? Keep reading for more information about what we need!

On Friday, August 28 we will need 3 volunteers to help with the set up and staffing the PCTA booths, perhaps selling some raffle tickets and of course, talking about the PCT and PCTA! The time for this is still being determined, but it will be in the afternoon. And you are welcome to stay for the Welcome Party in the evening – Beer Garden & Food vendors will be there!

On Saturday, August 29 we will need volunteers throughout the day to help Jack Haskel and Lanz Nalagan from the PCTA Sacramento office run the information booth and PCTA Store.

8:30 – 10:00 a.m.3 volunteers to set up table and store with Kelley Davis.  Jack and Lanz will be attending bridge walk (8:30 – 9:00) and will be back to finalize store before official opening at 10:00 a.m.  You should be able to take quick breaks to get to walk the bridge if you want to do that.

10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. -  3 volunteers to work with Lanz and Kelley Davis at the booth.  You will provide PCTA/Mt. Hood Chapter information and answer all kinds of questions. There will be store sales and we will be selling raffle tickets for the PCT Days raffle that happens Saturday evening. (Don’t know all the answers? Don’t worry, there will be others there to help with that, and there’s always “I’m not exactly sure, let me find out for you” or “leave your contact info and someone at PCTA will get back to you” I love these options!)

2:30 – 7:00 p.m. 3 volunteers to work with Lanz and Kelley at the booths.  You will do all the same things as the 10 to 2:30 shift, except we will need you to help break down store and secure items at 6:30 p.m.  Stay for the festivities - the Raffle is a blast!

And on Sunday, August 30 we will need to staff only the Information booth and then break it all down.

9:30a.m. – noon   2 volunteers to be at booth with PCTA/Mt. Hood Chapter information, answering questions and signing folks up to volunteer! Then you will break down the booth around noon.  We will need someone to help Kelley pack up and load items in her vehicle.

So... lots going on, lots of people are needed. It will be a great weekend of fun and information! I suggest that you check the event schedule at http://oviewfinder.com/pctdays/ and see if there are classes or other interesting happenings that you’d like to work into your time out there. Of course the free camping is available to you as well!

This is volunteering for PCTA/Mt. Hood Chapter, not for PCT Days. You will get to talk with a whole lot of people about the PCT and answer lots of questions and help folks who are looking for a fun, outdoor volunteer opportunity, just like you!! So, if you would like to help out, send an e-mail to: AlohaKDtravel@hotmail.com and let Kelley know your preference for the weekend.

Thank you for reading this very long e-mail, and thank you for considering helping us with this great event!
