Date: April 6th 2015

Hi there everyone,

Here’s a short notice opportunity this coming Saturday, April 11th. It is the Paradise Park Trail Logout in the lower portion of the trail. We need 2-3 volunteers for swamping ( clean up after sawyers, no experience necessary!). We would like to get 1 more sawyer if possible, (we have 2 already).

We will be clearing downed logs and minor tread repair and the day will consist of about 4-6 miles hiking – round trip.

You will need to bring your lunch, snacks and water for the day. You will also need to wear appropriate clothing; long pants, long sleeves and sturdy boots. You will be working rain or sun, bring rain gear and avoid cotton to reduce chance of hypothermia, please. If you have a hard hat, please bring it and as always, good work gloves as well.

We will bring all the tools necessary, hard hats and we do have some gloves, but they may not be a matched pair or in great condition, so bringing your own is advisable! We will also give instruction as needed.

The crew leaders are;  Chris Keil & Robert Caldwell

Please note: The trailhead is not car friendly (mud/deep ruts/sketchy bridge).  The crew leaders can shuttle 3-4 people in from Zig Zag Ranger Station if necessary.

So does this sound interesting? Well we’d love to have you on the crew, so send an e-mail to Chris Keil at chris_keil@hotmail.com and he will put you on the list and send you particulars for the day. (that is chris<underscore>keil@hotmail.com in case you can’t see that, because I can’t!)

Okay, so thanks for reading and considering this one! And remember, write to Chris, not me – I’m out of town and may not see your response as I have limited e-mail access!!
