Hello Volunteers!
Here is a chance for those who haven’t gotten out on a crew yet, this one is for you! It is a great chance to learn a lot about trail maintenance and help with a new addition to Mt. Hood Chapter’s section of the PCT.
Give Back to the PCT and celebrate Pacific Crest Trails Days in Cascade Locks. Sept 5, 2014, 10 am to 4 pm.
Take a day to come out and work on the PCT Alternate trail, TR400 in Cascade Locks, as part of the PCT Days Festivities. Perfect work party for new volunteers who want to get out and learn about trail work, and give something back to
the trail. Work party is planned to rebuild a short section of the trail that needs some large rocks to stabilize the tread. Easy hike in from Cascade Locks, for a total of 3 miles hiking for the day. We will have a mid-morning start and end it time to enjoy
other activities scheduled on Thunder Island. There is always more work to do, so we can find more work for everyone on the trail.
As with any of our Mt Hood PCT Work Parties, you will need to wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, sturdy footwear. You will also need to bring your lunch and water for the day too! Please bring you own work gloves, that fit your hands
are comfortable. We will provide all the tools needed and hard hats, we also do have gloves, but they may not be as comfortable as your own pair.

Also, keep in mind that it is PCT Days out at Cascade Locks Marine Park, check out the festivities here:
www.pctdays.com, it’s going to be a great weekend in Cascade Locks! What I’m looking forward to is the Bridge Walk on Saturday, the Bridge
of the Gods will be closed to traffic for a half hour! Check out more information about it on the website.
Thanks for reading and considering this work party,
Tammy
