VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TRAIL MAINTENANCE

Have some late-summer fun on Mt. Adams working on the PCT north of Riley Creek. If you're available please hit the reply button, e-mail <jjk-jsk@comcast.net, or phone (503)579-2841.

Wednesday, Sept. 1 to Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010

Who: Strong hikers with moderate to advanced trail skills

When: Wednesday Sept. 1st (8:30 AM) thru Sunday Sept. 5th

Where: Hike from William’s Mine Trailhead to the PCT at Riley Creek via the newly reopened 64A Trail and up Riley Creek Trail.

What: The project is tread restoration with a focus on drainage

Wilderness: This is in the wilderness so the limit is 12 on the crew. We will observe “leave no trace” practices so be prepared to pack out all waste materials.

There is a 3-day minimum commitment required to be on this crew.

This is a PCTA pack-supported project. All meals will be provided from Wednesday dinner through Sunday lunch. Meals will be prepared by Karla Hawley, the camp manager.
All tools and equipment will be provided by the PCTA. They will be packed in, but the crew will pack them down the hill.

Crew members will bring their own sleeping gear, PPE, specialty food, and adult beverage if they wish.

Crew Leader – Bill Hawley
