Hello Hiking Gurus and Trail Enthusiasts,

sorry for the mass email, but unusual circumstances require unusual measures. I am looking for help to find a few more volunteers for a backcountry work party on June 11-13.

This crazy weather has forced a change of a planned Backcountry Response Team trip to restore a section of the Loowit Trail. The alternate trip is at the Horseshoe Ridge Trail. Only one of the original registrants has opted for the alternate. To make the trip a go, I'd like at least 3 more volunteers. Please pass along the information below to anyone you think might be interested.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED

Washington Trails Association work party on the Horseshoe Ridge Trail
Friday, June 11 - Sunday June 13
Information and Registration at: http://old.wta.org/~wta/cgi-bin/wtaweb.pl?agDB+17928

The Horeshoe Ridge Trail makes a nice loop option starting near the Lower Siouxon Creek Trail and connecting back to the Siouxon another 3 miles upriver. It has been all but forgotten over the years. We've already had two work parties there and logged out over 100 trees. We'll need at least two more trips including this one to finish logging it out and restoring some of the worst sections where the trail has disappeared.

Backcounry Response Team (BCRT) trips are free. Volunteers on this trip will earn an Annual Northwest Forest Pass. No previous trailwork experience necessary, but participants must have backpacking experience and be prepared to hike 3-4 miles to the camp site with all their gear, food and tools. WTA provides tools, hardhats and instruction. Work parties begin at 8:30 am at the trailhead and end no later than 3:30 pm back at the trailhead.

-Thanks! Ryan
