VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TRAIL MAINTENANCE

Friday to Sunday,May 28 to 30, 2010
Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Indian Heaven Wilderness, Ten volunteers needed
 
Who: Chainsaw & cross-cut sawyers & trail maintainers.
 
When: Friday, Saturday & Sunday May 28th – 30th
 
Where: Crest Camp on Rd. 60 – 17 miles north of Carson Washington.
            (see driving & car-pool directions in crew notice on 5/25/10)
 
What: Log-out and tread repair on the PCT  -  Big Huckleberry Mt. to Junction Lake if snow allows.
          The goal is to perform maintain as much trail as possible in 2 ½ days. This will require considerable hiking.                          
 
We Provide: Tools, hard hats, most meals, and some camp equipment.
                    (see menu details in crew notice on 5-25-10).
 
You Bring: Long pants, long-sleeve shirt, sturdy boots, gloves, rain gear, lunch Friday, beverage of choice, personal camping gear.

Note: This is also an opportunity for chainsaw and crosscut sawyers to get their 2010 re-certification.
