Date: July 18th 2015

Hey there folks,

We are looking for a few good, sturdy volunteers to help out with the Upper Muddy Fork washout repair, part 2, which is going to happen on Thursday, July 30th.  We are looking for 5 volunteers to work on this crew.

We will working on the north side of Yocum Ridge, south of the Muddy Fork River. This crew will be continuing work started by an earlier trail crew. We will be digging out the trail where it has been covered by rock and debris washed down from slopes above. We will also need to create a route for future runoff events, to prevent material building up on the trail.

** This will be a strenuous trip involving a long hike and crossing three branches of the Muddy Fork River (possible fording), digging in hard soil and carrying heavy tools. We will need to hike at a quick pace to get to the work site and still have time to complete the project. Please respond only if you are in good shape and a strong hiker and comfortable with river crossings.** Hiking distance: round trip is 8 miles.

You will need to bring your lunch, snacks and water for the day. You will need to wear long pants, long sleeves and sturdy boots. Please bring good work gloves for handling tools and if you own one, a hard hat.

We will provide all the tools needed for the work, hard hats as needed and we will have some gloves if you don’t have them or forgot them! The crew leader is Robert Caldwell.

So, does this sound like the kind of crew for you?? Please hit reply or send me an e-mail at tturner@pcta.org and I’ll get you on the crew list. Once the crew is full, Robert will send out an e-mail with all the particulars about meet up time and place and any possible carpooling.

Thanks so much for considering helping on this crew!

Tammy
