Date: July 11th 2015
We still need at least 3 volunteers for this crew!! It should be a much cooler day for hiking and trail work. I did make an error in the listing, the area that will be
worked is the Muddy Fork section of the PCT. In case that makes a difference for you.
So, if you were thinking of going out on a Tuesday crew, this one would be great!!
Thanks for considering helping,
Tammy
Hey there,
We have another opportunity to help out on the PCT Alternate, Muddy Fork. We need
6-8 volunteers on Tuesday July 14, for a brushing crew. We will be cutting brush back from the trail using loppers and other hand tools. No prior trail crew experience required. The hiking this day will be 2 - 3 miles round trip and the crew leader
is Robert Caldwell.
You will need to provide your own lunch, snacks and water for the day. Most likely it will be sunny and warm, but you will need to wear long pants, long sleeves and sturdy boots to work. You
will probably want a sun hat for when you aren’t working, as you will need to wear a hard hat otherwise<smile>! Please bring a good pair of work gloves, but we will have some available if you do not have any. Also, if you have a hard hat, please bring it as
well.
We will provide hard hats and all the tools needed for the crew. We will also provide any instruction that might be needed as well.
If this interests you and works with your schedule, please hit reply or send me at e-mail at
tturner@pcta.org and I’ll get you on the crew list. Once the crew is full, Robert will send out an e-mail with all the particulars about meet up time, place and carpool opportunities as well.
Thanks for thinking about doing this one!
Tammy
