Hello,

Here’s another opportunity to have a fun time getting dirty! On the Upper Muddy Fork again, Saturday, May 30th. We need 6 volunteers to repair a slide and washout. We will be doing a lot of digging to recreate the trail through a slide area and an area where it has been covered by washouts over the past several years.

We will be digging out the trail that has been covered by rock and dirt washed down from the slopes above. And it will involve strenuous digging in hard soil and carrying heavy tools. The round trip hiking distance is 8 miles.

You will need to wear long sleeves, long pants and sturdy boots. You should bring a pair of work gloves if you have them! You will be working rain or sun, so please bring rain gear and avoid cotton clothing to reduce the chance of hypothermia.

You need to bring your lunch, snacks and water for the day. If you need sunblock or bug juice, you should bring that along too.

We will be providing all the tools and hard hats (unless you own one!) and we will have some gloves to offer, but they may not be a matched pair.

If this sounds like a fun time and the schedule works for you, hit reply or send me an e-mail at tturner@pcta.org and I will get you on the crew list. Once the crew is full the crew leader, Robert Caldwell will send out an e-mail with all the meet up times and places.

Thanks for considering this one!

Tammy
