Date: April 27th 2015
Hello everyone,
We are in need of
6 volunteers, no experience needed, to work on the Upper Muddy Fork section, Timberline Trail 600, PCT alternate on the west side of Mt Hood. The crew is on
Thursday, May 7th. This is a great opportunity for novice crew members!
We will be cutting back brush from the trail, in preparation for tread work to be done later this year. We will be cutting back brush from alongside the trail, that has forced
hikers to travel on the edge of the trail, wearing it down. We will be using loppers and other hand tools. The hiking distance will be 3-5 miles round trip.
You will need to bring your lunch, snacks and water for the day. Also you will need to dress in weather appropriate clothing; please no cotton layers as that can contribute
to hypothermia. You are required to wear long sleeves, long pants and sturdy boots. If you have a hard hat, please bring it along. You will also need a pair of work gloves.
We will provide all the tools and instruction needed for the day. We will bring hard hats for all and we do have gloves, but they may not be in the best shape or a matched
pair!
