A crew of 2-6 people will be needed up along Waucoma Ridge on the PCT.
This is the area South of Wahtum Lake. We will use the Wahtum Lake
Campground as our base camp, and then run the crews out of there . You
can come out for any or all days. Meals will be provided.
July 11, Friday - Brushing
Need 2-3 volunteers who want to come out and help brush the trail at
Indian Spring, with total hiking about 4 miles, with spectacular views
into Eagle Creek Drainage and endless mountains.
July 12, Saturday - Logout Day
Need at least 6 volunteers for this day of work 2 chain saw crews,
so A and B sawyers are needed, plus swampers, hiking 9-11 miles, but
depending if we get two crews, as one will have to hike to Buck Peak
This will be a long day to cover the 6 logs on the trial, plus the 5
on the Buck Peak Trail.
July 13, Sunday - Brushing
Easy day of brushing and clean up on the Lost Lake TR617 Trail, to the
PCT. Need at least 2-3 volunteers for this days work. Clear some
brush and move some logs. (some hand sawing, but no crosscut or
chainsaw). Will need someone to run a brusher. .
You will need to bring all your own camping gear if you are staying
overnight. You will also need lunches is you are just coming out for
the day, plus snacks and water for all the days that you are
interested in working out there. As always there is the requirement of
long sleeves and pants, sturdy boots and gloves.
We will provide all the tools and hard hats. We will have some gloves
and other PPE as needed (personal protection equipment), safety
glasses, ear plugs.
Dinner and Breakfast, plus lunch fixings, will be provided for the
folks that are staying overnight.

Volunteers for the Mount Hood Chapter of the Pacific Crest Trail Association maintain the 217 miles of PCT between Midway Meadows south of Washington's Goat Rocks Wilderness and Park Ridge in Oregon's Mount Jefferson Wilderness.
