Date: May 31st 2014
Hello everyone,
Here’s an opportunity for working at a fun event talking to potential volunteers and helping kids get their Junior Ranger Program passports. We will also be doing a Crosscut-saw demonstration. So we need
2 B-certified crosscut sawyers & 4 volunteers to help with the other parts of the tabling event. Greg Mikol is going to be coordinating this for us!
Here are the details:
The Mt. Hood Chapter is participating in National Get Outdoors Day, Saturday, June 14 at Fort Vancouver National Park. We'll be there with info about the trail and volunteering with the Mt. Hood Chapter.
For the first time this year, we'll be presenting a Crosscut saw demo at Get Outdoors day, giving visitors hands-on opportunity with a crosscut saw, and kids participating in the junior ranger program to get a stamp on their junior ranger
passport.
WHEN: Saturday June 14, 9 AM to 3:30 PM
WHERE: Fort Vancouver National Park (exact location to be determined)
WHO: We need a total of 4 volunteers to talk to visitors young and old about the PCT, the PCTA, and volunteer opportunities with the Mt. Hood Chapter. 2 volunteers should be Crosscut B certified to work with visitors to the saw demo.
Are you interested in helping out with this fun event? I have participated in the past and it is a fun day, lots of people to talk to and kids to tell about the trail and trail maintenance! Hit the reply button or send me an e-mail
tturner@pcta.org and I’ll get you on Greg’s list!
Thanks for considering this fun, off trail opportunity!
Tammy
