Hello Everyone!

Happy Memorial Day and here’s a great way to help us out next weekend after all the fun you are having this weekend!

PCTA Work Party - Lolo Pass Logout – Saturday May 31st

Looking for 6-8 volunteers, and 2 sawyers (A or B chainsaw cert), for this work party. There are an unknown number of logs and brushing, but there is usually some tread repair and drain work, scouting will be happening over the weekend and a plan will be in place by next week.

The plan is to cover from Lolo Pass North, to Huckleberry Trail, which is 4.4 miles, so maximum hike will be almost 9 miles or maybe less, depending on the work This will be a long day, so pack a lunch, snacks, and plenty of water, as it's dry along the ridge. Wear long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy boots, plus comfortable gloves to handle the tools, and don't forget your NW Forest Pass. Safety glasses recommended. Hardhats will be provided, as well all the tools. This is a great time of year to be out on the trail.  Sawyer PPE and chainsaws will be provided.

Car pool from Clackamas Town Center is also possible, with an early morning meeting time. It’s about 60-75 minute drive to Lolo Pass, which is North of ZigZag. Crew leader is Leif Hovin.

Does this sound like something you are interested in?? then hit your reply button or send me an e-mail at tturner@pcta.org and I’ll get you on the list. When the crew is full, an e-mail with all the particulars will be sent out with information on meeting times and carpooling opportunities!

Thanks for considering this one!

Tammy
